Abstract

Across a survey realized by the Group «Lazarillo» (University of Cantabria) to 1.400 pupils of 3º and 4º of «ESO» in the year 2003, appears a study of the characteristics of the reading teenager. They are analyzed in this article, inside all the questions that the questionnaire was formulating, which refer to the school yield, to the environment of the pupil, familiar and not relative, to the preferential interests and to the “powers of reading”. The comparison is established between both types of reading teenagers that we have established: those that we consider to be readers basing on the number of books read a year and those who are qualified themselves as fond of the reading. It can only clear that the intense affective relation that there support the young people of the latter group with the reading provokes a considerable difference between both groups.
