“Read and Write” in the Spanish realistic narrative

Abstract
The insistence of the novelists of the Restoration in "pedagogizar" their works facilitate that, among lines, they can filter questions of didactics of the language in school environments. One of the marks that singles the character literary teacher is in fact that of their characteristic speech, suffered of linguistic pedantry. But, fundamentally, the novelists are made echo of the "quarrel of methods" it has more than enough teaching of the reading and the writing to verify the background concern for the problem of the illiteracy. So the Spanish narrative of the last decades of the XIX and first of the XX one can become investigation source anything despicable on those basic cultural practices that concern to the acquisition of the linguistic competition.
