Sources and tools to study the formation of the reader child in Chile (1860-1960)

Abstract

In this article it is propossed to establish the coordinates for studying the child as a reader in Chile, from the study of periodic publications that appear between 1860 and 1960. This period of time is well-known as Liberal State to Reform and Revolution time. It is checked some basic bibliographic sources in order to comprehend the problematiza-tion around reading in modern Chile along with the consideration of some theoric and conceptual tools that would help to review some corpus, use as an example of three different publications of three different moments which show the process of modernization of reading practices and lead the activity of reading to the shape of enterteinement activity.
