Abstract

In order to exactly determine which actions should be imperative for public reading promotion policies, it is necessary to have, firstly, research teams to provide specific data to ensure its success; secondly, methodologies to design, monitor and evaluate them; thirdly, protocols to improve them and, finally, indicators to measure its objectives and results. This paper summarizes and reflects on the challenges that the reading policies may face from the review of the main research and institutional reports on the subject, so as describes the work process, the methodologies used and the priority lines of action proposed for the Valencian Reading Plan. In summary, it is all about the work process undertaken by a research group to advise the administration on the implementation of a Reading Plan.
